ABOUT
I'm a Royal Television Society award winning cameraman with 23 years of experience, working on single camera, broadcast television programmes. Specialising in documentary, current affairs and observational series.
Highly experienced operating as a single or two man crew and as a self shooting director cameraman.
I worked as a self shooting operator on the BBC's successful emergency rescue series, Helicopter Heroes for eight years.
Based in Yorkshire I operate throughout the UK and abroad.
Fully established as a BBC and ITV approved supplier with full public liability and commercial insurance.
I pride myself on having all my own broadcast and digital cinematography cameras and support kit - all cameras are BBC and ITV workflow approved.
As the equipment is my own, it's fully maintained, PAT tested and cared for!
Although I cut my teeth on tape based camera systems from the very early days of electronic recording, I was an early adopter of tapeless HD acquisition. I'm fully conversant with broadcast approved XDCAM/XAVC workflows and also offer on-location download and software support.
I'm also proficient in Final Cut ProX editing.
An experienced helicopter aerial filming cameraman, I have spent the last fifteen years operating in and around helicopters and trained as a HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) crew member allowing me to fly with the air ambulance emergency rescue services.
I'm currently studying to include remote aerial cinematography to my aerial filming work.
I pride myself on my work, my craft and my equipment and I'm a full member of The Guild of Television Cameramen.
